Cleaning Condenser Coils

The condenser coils in your air conditioning unit, need to be kept clean for multiple reasons. Clean condenser coils will help improve efficiency, your cool air will be cooler, and your consumption of energy will be less. Energy efficient systems save money and lengthen the life of your air conditioner unit.

The condenser coils should be cleaned at least once a year, and more often if there is heavy use, or harsh environmental conditions.

Condenser coil cleaning can be at do-it-yourself job. Check out the video on this page for some tips and visual aids.

You can also put up a wind barrier around the outside of the condenser unit that will also help keep the coils clean and protect your equipment. A barrier can be shrubbery or fencing, among other items, just make sure to keep foliage trimmed to prevent air flow blockage or debris gathering in and on the condenser unit.

Check out this video so watch the cleaning of the condenser coils in action and to better understand how this is done.

Cleaning the condenser coils is included in our Total Comfort Tune Up, so you may want to skip the time and effort and leave it to the experienced technicians of Aire Serv. It is highly recommend to get a thorough, professional equipment check-up at least once a year, to make sure everything is running safely and efficiently.
